bowl gouge – a deep fluted gouge used to change the surface and inside of bowls and vessels. Frequently includes a thicker shaft and for a longer time deal with than the usual spindle gouge as it needs to cut farther away from the Resource rest and deal with the forces of turning a sizable bowl. Often referred to as 'long and powerful' gouge.[22]
